Prices

My rates are subject to change, especially during busy periods, when very short deadlines are required, for small or unusual pieces of work, or if I feel that the standard of the original text means that the work will take significantly longer than usual. My current basic rates are as follows:

Proofreading

£18.25 (GB pounds) per 1000 words for academic papers and PhD and MSc dissertations.

£21 per 1000 words if you want me to include a check of reference formatting (see FAQ for details)

To calculate the number of words in your manuscript, using Microsoft Word, go to the Tools menu and select Word Count (don't forget to include footnotes if you have them).

Payments can be made via bank transfer, or PayPal. When the amount being paid is very small, I may charge a small extra fee (around £2) to cover PayPal's admin fees. If an international bank transfer is made, then all bank fees must be covered by the client, including my own bank's fees of £2 for international payments under £100 and £7 for those over £100.
